Multi-reference workflow input format

In the case of the multi reference workflows (MSR/Ingridients), does the format of the character sheet matter (2 rows, 2 columns or 4 images in a row) and also, is the comment in the workflow a recommendation or a must ? If I have character sheets with a different formats should the loras technically be able to create a good reference from them ?
